It is with great pride that we announce that our "DeDe" (MBISS CH Swiss Acres Shadtree Grace) has earned the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Award -- "Legion of Merit" or "LOM"!!!
MBISS CH Swiss Acres Shadtree Grace
According to the GSMDCA, the LOM award is defined as:
"The Legion of Merit (LOM) producer - In order to obtain LOM status, a dog must have sired three or more ROMs and a bitch must have produced two or more ROMs. The LOM would recognize those leaving lasting positive genetic legacies in our breed. Those with the unique ability to produce producers, thus ensuring the best the breed has to offer in terms of conformation, temperament and hopefully longevity. LOM producers would not have to be ROMs themselves (or even AKC Champions). This would allow those prepotent sires and dams that might not have produced the sheer number of offspring necessary to achieve a ROM to still be recognized as great producers of ROM offspring."

In her life, Dede had 2 puppies by (BISS CH RED FERN'S BONANZA OF DERBY ROM) "Sully". These two puppies were known as "Donald" and "Ivana", who would go on to be proven outstanding producers of the breed. "Dede's Legacy" would live through both Donald and Ivana! Below are Ivana (CH Suma-Shadetree You're Fired!) and Donald (CH Suma-Shadetree You're Hired!) with their offspring that qualified them for their ROMs.

Also, thank you to all the wonderful owners that have taken a Donald or Ivana puppy into their homes and have made them Champions of record.
